Vote Absentee

Why we're here

If you can't be at home on election day, you still have the right to vote by absentee ballot, wherever you are and wherever you're from. Without an easy-to-use information portal, the process can be confusing-- you need the appropriate forms, instructions, deadlines, and contact info for your hometown.

We've done all that for you. Now, all you need to do is type in your zip code and we'll give you all the information you need. You'll be sending in your ballot in no time.

Meet the team

Sam Oliker-Friedland

Project Manager

Sam is a linguistics student at Brown University in Rhode Island. At Brown, he founded the Brown Votes project, a joint project between students, the office of the Dean of the College, and the Swearer Center for Public Service to help students vote. He has been interested in improving access to voting since he organized a voter registration drive for new eighteen-year-olds at his high school in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Brian Moore

Creative Director

Brian is a film and photography student at Emerson College in Boston. He began his website design work in seventh grade and hasn't stopped since. His most recent project involved creating a news weblog online that connected off-campus Emerson students. Brian's favorite number is 3, his favorite letter is B, and when he looks into the sun, he sneezes. Twice.

Kyle Warren

Technical Director

Kyle holds a B.A. in Computer Science from Brown University. He has worked on creating multiple websites through coding, database design, and graphic design and has maintained a deep interest in web applications of all kinds. He doesn't believe a person can have a favorite color. He enjoys them all.

Michele Felski-Smith

Senior Data Manager,
Support Director

Michele is a history student at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. Michele has worked in interactive media and Internet marketing for several years, doing everything from extensive data entry and collection to writing content for online ads and websites. This has given her a disciplined attention to every detail, an invaluable skill as she gathers information on absentee voting from all over the country.

Jessica Goldberg

Outreach Director

Jessica is an education and public policy student at Brown University in Rhode Island. She has worked in the non-profit sector analyzing education issues and learning about organizational branding. Additionally, although the preschoolers that she teaches are not eligible to vote, they have impressed upon her the importance of effective communication.

Support us

A project of this size, done well, is not free-- and as a poor, starving non-profit run by poor, starving college students, we need all the help we can get.

A tax-deductible contribution, no matter how small, goes a long way to improving electoral access for those who are away from home.

If you would like to support our initiative, please email sam@govoteabsentee.org. Soon, we'll have a way for you to give online.

We sincerely thank you in advance your support.
